Born and raised in Michigan in America’s Midwestern “mitten” state, I travelled the world with the U.S. Air Force officer (enlisted then commissioned) and then worked for an Internet Service Provider in Michigan and later a daily newspaper. I rejoined the U.S. Government as a Public Affairs Officer and then Web Policy Manager for an offshore energy regulating agency in the Department of the Interior, finally retiring to my wife’s home island of Terceira in the Portuguese Acores.
